Californians Earn Five Medals for Team USA at Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics

SACRAMENTO, February 25, 2026 (CALIFORNIA NEWS TODAY) — California athletes earned five medals for Team USA at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, Italy.

Californians secured two gold medals and two silver medals across figure skating, snowboarding, ice dance, and women’s hockey competition.
Alysa Liu of Oakland won two gold medals in figure skating. Chloe Kim of Torrance earned silver in the Women’s Snowboard Halfpipe Final. Madison Chock of Redondo Beach won silver in Olympic ice dance alongside her partner Even Bates.
Cayla Barnes of Eastvale was part of the USA Women’s Hockey team that defeated Canada in overtime to secure a gold medal for Team USA.
The Paralympic Games are scheduled to take place March 6 through March 15 in Milano Cortina where two Californians are set to compete.
Jen Lee of Daly City will compete in sled hockey. Kate Delson of San Diego will compete in para snowboarding.
California athletes are competing across both Olympic and Paralympic events as part of Team USA.
